There was a referendum on Sunday in Brasil on whether the sale of guns and ammunition should be banned, the result was 65% no and 35% yes.

There are about 100 people shot and killed, and another 55 injured, everyday in Brasil, so I am not sure if having a referendum on something like this is the best way for a government to decide on such a important issue.

It would be like asking Northern Ireland to vote on letting go of its political hang-ups...
