The past month has been very busy with a team of 9 from America here for two weeks and then the Tearfund team of 11 arriving on the 28th of July, just a week and a half to go a life will be back to normal. Yesterday I spent the day with the Tearfund team in a project in a Favela, slum area, in Sao Paulo which is run by a lady Pastor. It was a great day with the children and teenagers singing, dancing and making braclets with the team. At the end Rosaria, lady Pastor, Nathan, team leader, and I went to see some of the people who live in the Favela. Nathan wanted to film some of the places we had been the week before, on the way out we shook hands with a man and Rosaria told him who we were and why we were there, when we got back to the street a couple of people drove past in a VW Combi, then Rosaria told me the man we shook hands with is the local drug traffiker and the 2 in the Combi are killers. She said that they are happy that Christians come to work in or visit the Favela and if someone who works for them becomes a Christian and wants to leave then they are free to do so as long as they take it seriously.
This week we have some more painting to do, on Thursday the team are going for a short break for four days and then on the 24th they go home.
