Corruption in Brasil

The couple of months the news has been full of reports of corruption amongst Brasilian politicians the Party who are in government were using public money and paying parliament members US$ 15,000 a month to support them in votes. The ex Mayor of São Paulo and his son have been arrested because he was supposed to have sent over US$200 million dollars of public money to different account over seas during his time as Mayor. Apparently he skimmed 15% of the cost of any public works for him self. When there are so many children starving on the streets of São Paulo this money could have done so much to alleviate their suffering.
